The official TfL and government fees total approximately £693–£723 (licence £343, DBS £64.92, DBS subscription £16/yr, GP medical £150–£180, three assessments £120). Our service charges are £256 (admin £70, Topographical training £150, SERU training £36). Online practice packages start from £19.99.
From submitting your documents to receiving your badge, the process typically takes 8–12 weeks. The DBS check takes about 3 working days online, TfL reviews your application within 2–4 weeks, and assessments can be booked once TfL approves your initial documents. After passing, the badge arrives by post in 4–6 weeks.
You need: a valid UK/EU passport or right to work document, a UK/EU driving licence held for 3+ years, proof of address within the last 3 months, a completed TPH204 medical form (signed by your GP), an enhanced DBS linked to the Update Service, a passport-size digital photo, your National Insurance number, and 5 years of address history.
No. If you hold a valid active bus or lorry (HGV/LGV) driving licence, you are exempt from the TPH204 medical examination as you have already passed a higher medical standard. You will still need all other documents.
There are three TfL assessments, each costing £40 (£120 total): the Topographical Skills Assessment (routes & map reading), the SERU Assessment (safety & regulations), and the English Language Speaking & Listening test. You get 2 attempts per test.
Almost entirely. You submit documents online through our portal and take our mock tests online. However, you will need to visit a Post Office once for DBS identity verification, your GP for the medical, and a designated TfL assessment centre for the official tests.
If the name on your passport does not perfectly match your driving licence or other documents, you must provide a Change of Name Deed (Deed Poll). This is strictly mandatory—TfL will reject the application without it.
With a TfL Private Hire Licence, you can drive independently for premium platforms like Uber, Bolt, Addison Lee, FreeNow, and many others. We can assist you in signing up with any platform immediately once you receive your badge in the post.
Yes, you can apply with either a UK or EU driving licence, provided you have held it for at least 3 years and have the legal right to work in the UK. You will also need to provide a valid passport or share-code right to work document.
